This past weekend, LGBT Tech’s Digital Navigator, Arin Rook, had the opportunity to present at the annual TransTech Summit hosted by TransTech Social. The summit, held virtually from March 28-31, 2024, offered a wide range of sessions and workshops tailored to help attendees develop new skills and network with other LGBTQ+ people.
For our Digital Navigator program we led a session called, "Empowering Queer & Trans Communities Online.” During this presentation we addressed the pressing need for comprehensive digital safety planning and advocacy, discussing some common online threats and challenges faced by LGBTQIA+ individuals. We also shared some practical tips and resources for self-protection and empowerment online. We want to offer a heartfelt “thank you” to all those who attended the session and engaged in the important topic of digital safety for our community.
The TransTech Summit's commitment to creating an inclusive space for learning and networking was truly inspiring, and we are grateful for the opportunity to have participated in this important event.
